The Revolvers is a project of music producer Todd Johnson featuring a revolving lineup of musicians. To quote Music critic Alejandro Alfonso, “Todd Johnson's ability to blend gritty confidence with vulnerability brings the swagger and romance of Rod Stewart and the American cool of Springsteen. With power vocals, TJ&R paints portraits of longing, redemption, regret, and love with an edge of southern soul from his Carolina roots.”
Todd has previously released multiple records and singles including Nowhere to Go but Up (2010) and Self Explanatory (2014), for which he recorded and performed all instruments and vocals. The Revolvers was born in 2014 to play the latest EP live with a rotating line-up of musicians and instrumentations offering versatility to shows. From this has now grown over a 30 musician roster who has performed live to now “Revolving” groups of performers on for each recording.
From acoustic-driven, Americana songwriter nights at venues like Petra's and The Evening Muse, to an over-the-top 8-piece band featuring a full horn section for Mardi Gras on an Uptown Charlotte rooftop, the band can morph to offer a unique experience to each show.
For the band's most current project, music producer Dan Hood matched new songs with a new lineup of the Revolvers titled Love Sessions, featuring 5 new songs with a fun L.A. punky pop-rock sound that still give way to the Carolina rasp and witty lyrical quips.
